4/12/2023 0 Comments The tagger brooklyn nine nine![]() We enter the precinct and see Captain Holt on Peralta's table, "Good morning Captain" Amy greets, "Good Morning Captain" I greet along with her, "Good Morning Detective, I'm happy to see you two right on time here" Captain greeted back, "We would've been early if someone hadn't locked us out the apartment for 15 minutes and we had to wait for the landlord to come and get us in again" Amy said glaring at me and I just stuck out my tongue to annoy her Amy just laughed it off but I was serious "Do me a favor next time Charles says something like that hit him from me" I insisted. "Sure, I'll ask Terry today if he can assign you and me together on that one cause I certainly don't wanna be paired up with Peralta today ugh" I scrunch up my face and Amy just roll her eyes and say "Gotta tell you Charles is already making wedding cards for you two that's all he talks about while staring at you two from afar" Amy laughs and I just pull a pout on my lips. "Cassie, can you help us with the new drug case I have been assigned?" Amy asks me as she and I walk towards the precinct. They’ll do better.I've been thinking to add bonus chapters the ones that are not in the series as to show some development between Cassie and Jake what do you all say? This was an enjoyable episode - and one which did, like the Pilot, take dead aim at a serious problem in real-life police departments without overplaying the lesson - but it doesn’t feel like it’s expanding the scope of the story from the opening, so it just kinda…is. It uses the elements set-up in the premiere but doesn’t really build on them, and the least-inspired subplot of Boyle’s crush on Rosa is not worthy of the attention it gets. This doesn’t happen often, but I feel like this was a weaker episode than the Pilot. It’s not like this show at all other than being about police, one of whom is Andre Braugher, but it is amazing, and so is Andre Braugher. If you’ve never seen Homicide: Life on the Street, do. ![]() Gina passes with Rosa while introducing Carlene. MORE INFO (and potential spoilers) UNDER THE CUT: How many male characters (with names and lines) are there? How many female characters (with names and lines) are there? Since you could theoretically pass the Bechdel eight times over and still be churning out the most misogynistic content ever encountered, this blog will also endeavour to evaluate that content when and where possible, offering a positive content rating out of five (five being excellent, one being atrocious, and three being the baseline standard from which so few episodes dare to deviate), and details of these observations and others under the spoiler-cut. Within the context of this blog, it remains a bare minimum - even if the episode gives me nothing else worth talking about, I can at least note whether or not it passes the B. We all know the Bechdel is not (and was never intended to be) the be-all-and-end-all for judging the feminist content of a text, it's supposed to represent a bare-minimum hurdle that all-too-many things still completely fail to step over. In which I watch tv shows and write posts about whether or not each episode passes the Bechdel, along with other observations on the quality (or lack thereof) of their female representation (as well as anything else that feels important to me, and hey, a little about the quality of the episodes themselves, because I'm just a big damn fan of tv).
